By background Hafsah is a registered children’s nurse and health visitor. After a decade of working in the NHS, she took the leap to do something completely different by opening a children’s play cafe in her local area. She had found that after having a baby in the midst of lockdown, she felt isolated and didn’t have the opportunity to meet many other new parents in her area. What was missing was somewhere she could sit down with a hot cuppa in peace whilst her baby played in a safe and stimulating environment.

Getting itchy feet to jump ship careers, she worked hard with the Prince’s Trust writing a thorough business plan and in 2024 quit her stable job to launch her play cafe with just a few thousand pounds she had saved up. Just over a year in, she might be running around like a headless chicken wearing all the hats in the business, but she is having so much fun meeting new families, giving her professional advice in a casual environment whilst making pretty drinks and kids picky plates!
