After a number of years working in senior marketing roles, I decided to go it alone and launched my own marketing, branding and events business, Karen Campbell Marketing.
My passion is working with businesses, large and small, and at any stage of their journey on their marketing needs. A lot of my clients are at the top of their game with the service or product they offer, but often don’t have the time, knowledge or inclination to run their marketing on top of this, which is where I come in.
I work with my clients in a number of ways; from running their marketing completely (which includes in-depth brand and audience identification work, alongside bringing their brand to life, both physically and digitally), to working on ad hoc marketing projects and activations, and everything in between, always with the client’s commercial and visionary goals at the forefront.
I am a huge drum banger for women entrepreneurs (especially in the face of the inequality and lack of flexibility we are currently facing) and seeing the number of women starting their own business is hugely inspirational. I have a particular love of working with these amazing women to grow their brands and use marketing as a tool for their success.
Having been a journalist for 10 years and then a marketer and events’ organiser for the past 15, I’m lucky enough to be able to bring a few hats to the party and my main aim is to fully understand the brands I work with and deliver a succinct, bespoke marketing plan that is successful for them.
The main challenge since starting my business is self-belief and keeping the dream and goals focussed and keeping going. Working on your own can be tough but having a wonderful network of encouraging women (f:Entrepreneur I am looking at you!) is worth its weight in gold.
